Serge Lafontant – Founder

The Founder

Lafontant Serge is a business owner with a keen interest in serving people and filling the gap in the hospitality service. He is responsible for running all facets of business management at LS Hospitality, which was birthed out of the need to offer more to hotels and restaurants. Having worked at some world-class establishments in Miami like the Mandarin hotel, Setai hotel, Loews Miami Beach hotel, Aqualina hotel, and Hilton hotel where he learned the concept of guest-servicing in the hospitality business, Serge has a wealth of experience and passion for contributing to the industry.

With 15 years’ experience and degrees in Business Administration from Miami Dade College and the University of Florida, he puts his knowledge of guest servicing and versatility in the hospitality industry into LS Hospitality.

As a young boy born in Haiti, my parents taught me the value of work and necessity of it – from cleaning the house to helping with grocery shopping and working as a cashier on weekends. I saw customer service as a business need. On arrival to America, I worked as a Bellman at Wyndham Hotel where I was introduced to the world of business and how the hospitality industry worked, which sparked my interest and led to a discovery journey.

Luckily, I found myself working at other hotels like Loews Miami Beach Hotel, the luxurious Setai Hotel where I experienced the true practice of guest service and served guests such as celebrities, sports stars, and CEOs. With a knack to discover people’s needs, I began a transport business to shuffle guests from the hotel to the airport and more as I saw how challenging it was for guests to move around.

From running a transport business to juggling an education at Miami Dade College and running a restaurant that promoted the Haitian cuisine, the drive for success in the hospitality industry that runs in my entrepreneurial veins led to the creation of Mr. Vert Cleaning – an ecofriendly cleaning service which has helped to restore the clean and shine to floors, furniture, utensils and even cars for clients such as La Petite Maison, Nusret Steakhouse, Mandolin, Osaka, and many others.

As every business venture opens the eye to more gaps in consumer service, I noticed the hiring challenge of the industry as Hotels and Restaurants that we serviced had difficulties managing and retaining staff for their cleaning, cooking, housekeeping and guest servicing needs; and this birthed LS Hospitality – dedicated to fill in the gap by outsourcing staff to service our clients without the worry of employee turnover, retention, or management.

With an eye and knack for filling challenges with solutions, I continually work to deliver hassle-free service to our client.
